Why Am I Having Chest Pain?

Chest pain can signify a broad range of conditions from minor causes such as acid reflux to serious and life-threatening, such as a heart attack. Chest pain is one of the most common causes of emergency room visits in the United States. Our professionals will ask you questions about your history in order to help determine the reason for your chest pain. Other follow-up tests may include blood tests, CT scans, and X-rays. Our advanced team can provide the immediate services you need to get answers and care.

Heart Attack Symptoms:

  • Chest pain
  • Discomfort in chest, arms, back, neck, shoulder, or jaw
  • Difficulty breathing

A heart attack can be caused when a blood vessel or blood vessels are clogged by plaque. Heart attacks can be treated with medications or surgery to clear blood passage through those blood vessels. It is important to obtain immediate medical attention if you experience or witness someone experiencing a heart attack.

Stroke Symptoms:

  • Numbness, weakness or loss of movement in your face, leg, or arm - especially on one side
  • Confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
  • Loss of balance

If you have these symptoms or think you are having a heart attack or stroke, call 911 immediately.
