Setting the Standard: Frederick Health Hospital Awarded Continued Accreditation for Laboratory Excellence

Frederick Health is proud to announce that our Hospital Laboratory has once again received full accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the global leader in laboratory quality assurance. This distinction follows a rigorous on-site inspection as part of CAP’s Laboratory Accreditation Program, which is recognized as the gold standard for clinical laboratories.

The College of American Pathologists is the world’s largest organization of board-certified pathologists and the most respected authority in laboratory accreditation. Its detailed inspection process evaluates every aspect of a laboratory’s operations, including quality control, test methodologies, employee qualifications, equipment, safety procedures, and overall management. To maintain accreditation, laboratories must demonstrate consistent excellence across all these areas—ensuring patients and providers can trust the results that inform care decisions.
