What to Expect
Most blood donations take 45 minutes from start to finish.
- When you arrive, check in with registration
- Answer the donor health questionnaire and have vitals checked
- Sit and relax while you give your donation
- After, enjoy light refreshments — you've earned it!
Preparing for Your Donation
- Always drink plenty of water before donating blood
- Eat a full meal or an iron rich meal
- Avoid alcohol and fatty foods 24 hours before donation
- Do not take aspirin 48 hours before donation
Who Can Give Blood
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Weigh at least 110 pounds
- Be in good health and feel well
- Have not donated in the last 56 days
- Wait three months after getting a tattoo or piercing
