Skin Cancer Symptoms
Due to the varying types of skin cancer, symptoms can differ. Any of the following symptoms should be reported to your primary care provider or dermatologist:
- White waxy mass on skin
- Brown scaly patch on skin
- Unusual growth or changes in existing mole
- New growth of mole
- Lump or ulcer on skin
While these symptoms are not always an indication of skin cancer, you should see your primary care provider if you experience any of these symptoms.

Early detection of skin cancer can improve your treatment outcomes. Screenings for skin cancer can improve your chances of early detection.
Skin examinations to screen for skin cancer are performed by your primary care provider or dermatologist.
